None of these sectors are isolated, however, it is the certain personal aspirations revealed during prior study that commands the choice of chemistry activity sector.
It is not uncommon for the appeal for interfaces with other major disciplines such as mathematics, physics or biosciences to guide this choice.
The choice is generally built through the time spent on practical placements during the bachelor’s and master’s courses. This allows for reflection on one or more subjects of real interest, learning to know the host team and the future thesis supervisor.
The candidate selection is first established in agreement with the thesis supervisor and the host Institute which approves the application.
The success of this application will be linked to the possibility of funding the thesis in the form of a salary for at least 3 years.
